What to Expect
AP students are definitely held to a higher standard than most other students and because of that, we have quite a bit more work. I know coming up from the middle school you aren't used to having much homework. Well in this class alone you should expect at least an hour or two a night in homework. You will go over what you read the night before in class the next day. You will also have a three question test at the beginning of the class each day in order for the teacher to know if you actually did your home work or not. Chapter tests are also administered at the end of each chapter. Unit tests are given at the end of each unit, these include open response/ essay questions ( take these very seriously, they will help you in the long run ). You will also have to write two midterm essays, a speech that you will present in front of the class, and a project of the teacher's choosing. During review mode a few weeks before The Exam you will be given a list of three-hundred vocabulary words to study and be tested on, you will also review and be tested on each area you've covered throughout the year, and he will also give you practice AP exams. The bright side is, if you pass the AP exam you will get college credit! After the exam is over you pretty much get to relax the rest of the school year in that class, it's GREAT!
